Farming is Business......and Sexy!

Cluster Farming and Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service empower 50 SHS schools as part of the students’ curriculum so that they will become the next best catfish and broiler farmers in Ghana.

Each of the SHS schools will start growing a total of 3,920 broilers and 4,272 table size catfish per year. That is 245 broilers per breeding cycle and that for a total of 16 cycles and for the table size catfish the numbers are 356 catfish at each harvest for a total of 3 breeding ponds, totalling to 12 times harvest each year. The total for all 50 SHS schools amounts to 196,000 broilers and 213,600 table size catfish annually.

Smallholder Family Farming

Within the first quarter of 2025 we foresee starting a project for smallholder farmer families. A total of 100 aspiring farmers will be targeted, whereas 50 will start with broiler breeding and another 50 with catfish breeding.

Practical and theoretical training courses will be held at our farm with the assistance of TVET and Cluster Farming’s workforce will be expanded with a team of extension officers, additional marketing and sales staff and trainers.

Each farm is expected to grow respectively 2,112 broilers in 16 cycles (132 broilers per cycle) and 2,400 catfish in 12 cycles (200 catfish per cycle) per year, adding up to 105,600 broilers and 120,000 catfish produced by all farms.
