SHS School Feeding, whilst becoming the next best farmers
Ghana TVET Service, manages and implements national policies and programmes relating to pre-tertiary technical and vocational education and training. TVET and CFH signed a MoU earlier this year and are working on a concept for Senior High Schools to grow their own protein, whilst using it as a curriculum to become the next generation of successful agri-/ aquapreneurs. Small scale broiler houses and catfish breeding ponds will be constructed at 50 designated SHS schools enabling the students to learn best husbandry practices, but also marketing and sales.

Growing nutritious protein for the school feeding programme is an important part of the programme and the schools will become self-sufficient through selling part of the broilers and table size catfish direct to consumers = Farm to Fork. This programme will reach well over 52,000 Ghanaian students and the project team is working on bringing the necessary funding partners on board. |
