Catfish hatchery and growout
The farm holds its own hatchery with a current capacity of 3 million catfish (Clarias gariepinus) hatchlings. Next to this we can grow up to 450 tonnes table size catfish in our own RAS (Reciculation Aquaculture System) raceway breeding ponds.
All processes in the hatchery and RAS breeding ponds are executed free of chemicals, effluent water is being filtered organically and reused in our breeding ponds. In the hatchery houses we use a semi-RAS flow-through system adding clean bore hole water to the filtered water.

Cluster Farming has the knowledge and experience to hatch a pure Clarias gariepinus breed, meeting the local and West African demand for quality aquacultured catfish and reducing the pressure on natural marine and local fish populations.
